The National Cancer Centre Singapore
The National Cancer Center of Singapore (NCCS) is a world leader for compassionate and innovative cancer treatment. The new NCCS combines research and clinical care in two towers and features medical, surgical, and radiation oncology services. The new radiation oncology department is equipped with state-of-the-art photon-based modalities, including 17 linear accelerators and an MRI-Linac. The only public institution in Singapore offering proton therapy, it also includes a four-gantry proton treatment center with Hitachi equipment. It is five times larger than the previous facility, allowing increased clinical care capacity and dedicated space for groundbreaking clinical and translational research.
The 24-story building is designed around patient’s needs for a “one-stop shopping” experience. This improves patient and caregiver access and convenience in an environment purposefully designed by Tsoi Kobus to provide comfort and reduce stress. The NCCS is a destination for truly comprehensive care – from prevention to diagnosis and treatment, to survivorship and palliative care. To offer integrated care, the Centre also has three day-surgery operating suites and two endoscopy suites.
