Penn Medicine | Virtua Health
Proton Therapy Facility, Voorhees, NJ
As part of a continuing effort to improve access to proton therapy for cancer patients regionally, Penn Medicine has partnered with Virtua Health to develop a new proton facility on Virtua's main hospital campus in Voorhees, NJ. The Penn Medicine / Virtua Cancer Program in South Jersey provides preventative, diagnostic, and treatment services for individuals with cancer.
Along with a second Penn Medicine site in development, this addition to an existing Radiation Oncology department will feature the first application in the world of Varian's new compact gantry technology. Tsoi Kobus Design has worked closely with Penn, Virtua, and Varian to seamlessly integrate this new single-room center into Virtua’s existing healthcare facilities and campus. As the project is poised to start construction in the fall of 2019, Tsoi Kobus Design is looking forward to applying a full spectrum of "lessons-learned" to the next generation of proton facilities we plan and design.
