This new 1.2 million+ square foot hospital and inpatient bed tower will serve as a transformative, world-class destination for health and wellness, revitalizing a critical community asset. Developed over more than a decade of collaboration with Tsoi Kobus Design as Master Plan Architect, the project is strategically located across West Grand Boulevard and will be seamlessly connected to the legacy hospital through a series of bridges. The facility features state-of-the-art technology throughout its patient rooms and operating suites, and includes a significantly expanded emergency department with dedicated areas for trauma and behavioral health. Purpose-designed spaces will support interdisciplinary care teams, patients, and families. The project also includes a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital developed in partnership with Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. Reflecting a strong commitment to equity and sustainability, 30% of the project’s spend is allocated to diverse businesses, and the hospital is designed to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040. The project includes a new community space, Henry Square, which will include public art, access to fitness programming, and areas for respite and reflection.
